Prepare for the winter season with ARTHEPSY’s Winter Reflections Workshop, a free, in-depth event designed to combine expressive art and creative journaling for emotional exploration and personal insight. This workshop provides participants of all ages with tools to reflect on the past year, set intentions, and explore emotions through a combination of visual art and written expression.
The workshop begins with a guided meditation and mindfulness session to help participants center themselves, focus attention, and connect with their inner experiences. This opening segment prepares participants to engage fully with the creative exercises and encourages emotional openness.
Following the mindfulness session, participants will engage in a series of artistic activities. Using drawing, painting, and collage techniques, they will create visual representations of their experiences, memories, and aspirations. Art therapists will provide prompts designed to help participants explore themes of reflection, gratitude, resilience, and goal-setting.
In the next segment, participants will combine their visual work with journaling exercises. Guided prompts encourage introspection, allowing individuals to explore their emotions, achievements, challenges, and personal growth over the past year. Participants are encouraged to integrate their artistic creations with written reflections, creating a holistic expression of self.
A short communal break will provide refreshments and an opportunity to discuss creative insights informally. After the break, participants will have time to refine their artworks and journaling pieces, with support from art therapists to enhance expression, symbolism, and meaning. Collaborative exercises may also be introduced, allowing participants to explore shared themes and collective reflection.
The workshop concludes with a final reflection session where participants can present their work, share personal discoveries, and discuss how art and journaling can be used as tools for ongoing self-care. Art therapists will offer strategies for incorporating creative practices into daily routines and maintaining emotional balance during the winter months.
By the end of this workshop, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of their emotional landscape, a set of reflective artworks and journals, and practical techniques to continue creative exploration at home. The Winter Reflections Workshop highlights ARTHEPSY’s commitment to using creativity to foster resilience, self-expression, and personal growth throughout the year.
